There are several different chain options (see fifth and sixth pictures). Gold-filled chains are made with a thick layer of 14 karat gold bonded to brass. Gold-filled jewelry has 100 times more gold coating than something that is just gold-plated, and if cared for properly, can last a lifetime. Sterling silver chains are solid sterling silver.
